This Septemebr 28th, Ecoreach set out a booth at the annual Insect-ival at the State Botanical Garden to kick start a fun fall! This insect themed festival attracted hundreds of families to the botanic gardens. They got to learn plenty of new facts and interact with volunteers across multiple facets of Ecology.

Officer and volunteer Ashley helping a young visitor build a caddisfly case!

Ecoreachers taught visitors all about the unique life history of caddisflies, including the cases they build as larvae! Using cutouts and cardboard, we worked with young visitors to craft their own caddisfly cases to take home.

Visitors go to make cases of all sorts of colors and materials!

Ecoreach always has a blast at Insect-ival and our Ecoreachers are already excited about implementing new activities next year.
