Friday April 24th
Botantist Walk with Dr. Tanisha Williams
Kick off CNC weekend with an afternoon walk with museum experts Dr. Tanisha Williams and Steven Hughes. We will meet in the Heritage Garden to then identify plants along the beautiful the Heritage Garden trail.
Time: 1pm – 3pm
Location: State Botanical Gardens of Georgia (Heritage Garden)
Saturday April 25th
Sandy Creek Nature Center Naturalist Walk
Join us for a guided morning walk uncovering the beautifully diverse flora and fauna found throughout Sand Creek Nature Center. All ages are welcome to bring binoculars, a camera, and a sense of adventure! (Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult).
Time: 10am – 11am

Sunday April 26th
Lily Branch Bird Club Walk
Celebrate spring migration at the GA State Botanical Gardens with UGA’s one and only birding club on a group bird walk! Learn to spot, record, and identify local birds while enjoying a peaceful morning outdoors.
Time: 8am – 9:30am
Location: State Botanical Garden of Georgia (visitor center)
Butterfly Catch and Release with Dr. Jim Porter
Join us at the State Botanical Gardens of Georgia hands‑on butterfly catch‑and‑release program led by Dr. Jim Porter. We invite families to explore the colors, behaviors, and life cycles of local butterflies up close. We will meet inside the Visitor Center’s classroom then learn some catch and release techniques in the Flower Garden.
Time: 1pm – 3pm
