November Teen Library Event: Biomagnification

At the library this month, EocReach members did an activity with the teens to teach about food webs and contaminants. The activity illustrated how energy is lost as it is passed up through a food chain, but the concentration of contaminants can increase. This is referred to as biomagnification, and you can watch a video all about it here. We then examined some food webs and talked about which organisms would be the safest to eat.
